Conference held in Meknès, Morocco, 2-7 April 2001.] A review is presented of developments on the certification of olive plants in France, with special reference to developments since 1992 requiring a specific standard referred to as CAC (Conformité Agricole Communautaire) of the European Union. Certified plants need to be free of the following pests and diseases: Euzophera pinguis, Meloidogyne spp. Saissetia oleae, Pseudomonas syringae pv. savastanoi [Pseudomonas savastanoi pv. savastanoi], Verticillium dahliae, and all plant viruses.
