Notes: The major problems of Lao agriculture are briefly summarised. The insects identified on economic plants other than rice are listed, and the species of potential importance are compared with those reported from neighbouring countries. Some natural enemies of these insects were also found. Species listed include Ceroplastodes chiton, Coccidohystrix insolita, Coccus sp. nr. hesperidum, Coccus viridis, Crypticerya jacobsoni, Ferrisia virgata, Hemaspidoproctus cinereus, Parasaissetia nigra, Pseudaulacaspis cockerelli, Rastrococcus sp., and Saissetia sp.
