DeBach, P. 1963 Aphytis costa-limai (Gomes, 1941) comb. n., a parasite of Chrysomphalus aonidum (L.) in Brazil (Chalcidoidea, Aphelinidae).. Revista Brasileira de Biologia 23(1): 35-38.
Notes: A new combination, Aphytis costa-limai is proposed for a parasite of Chrysomphalus aonidum (L.) which originally was described as Marietta costa-limai Gomes in 1941. Later it was redescribed as Aphytis spiniferus Compere and Annecke in 1961. A. costa-limai is a primary ectoparasite of C. aonidum and is a fairly effective biological control agent with a wide range in Brazil. It is presumed to be indigenous to this region of South America.
