Cui, W., & Hang, D.Z. 1987 [A preliminary study on Aspidiotus nerii Bouche.]. Insect Knowledge 24(6): 332-335.

Notes: The biology of the diaspidid Aspidiotus nerii was studied on Juniperus and Sabina in Hebei, China, in 1983-1985. The morphology of the eggs, nymphs, female pupae and adults is described and illustrated. There were 3 generations annually and 2nd-instar larvae overwintered. The incidence of 1st-generation adults peaked in early June and of the 2nd-generation in early August. The sex ratio was 1:1 and 65 eggs were laid per female. The longevity of female and male adults was 50-60 and 1-2 days, respectively. Adults and larvae of the coccinellid [Chilocorus kuwanae attacked nymphs, pupae and females of A. nerii, causing up to 78% mortality.
