Palermo - Erice - Bagheria, 28 maggio-1 giugno 1985.] The coccid Saissetia oleae on olive near Rome, Italy, was controlled in the field by applying a dust containing fenoxycarb against the young nymphs of the 1st and 2nd generations of the year. The insect growth regulator gave 91% nymphal mortality at first and 100% after 2-4 months, but no account was taken of possible effects on beneficial fauna such as the natural enemies of S. oleae.
