  • Notes: The objective of this research was to determine the presence of natural enemies of mealybugs. Samples were taken in banana and plantain plantations. The main results were to determine the presence of two parasitoids: Hambletonia pseudococcina affecting species of the genus Dysmicoccus and Pseudococcus, and Leptomastix dactylopii, a parasite of Planocucus citri. In addition, the presence of a predator of the genus Scymus was found to beconsuming nymphal stages and adult of the pest. These insect as biological pest controllers can be successful within an integrated pest management program.
