Chacko, M.J., Bhat, P.K., & Ramanarayan, E.P. 1976 Laboratory and field testing of insecticides against coffee mealy bugs.. Indian Coffee 40: 118-119.
Notes: Seven insecticides were tested in sprays at a concentration of 0.02% in the laboratory against mealybugs (especially Planococcus lilacinus (Ckll.)) on arabica coffee. Fenthion, methyl-parathion, cartap, fenitrothion and endosulfan gave better initial kill than quinalphos and carbaryl, but all were equally effective six days after treatment. In a field trial in Karnataka, India, with five insecticides, 0.05% quinalphos, fenitrothion and fenthion gave effective control of Perissopneumon phyllanthi (Green) on robusta coffee.
