Cen, M., & Ji, H.X. 1988 [A preliminary report on Ericerus pela Chavannes in Guangxi.]. Insect Knowledge 25(4): 230-232.

Notes: The biology of the coccid Ericerus pela was studied in Guangxi, China, in 1982-86. Its main hosts were Ligustrum lucidum, Fraxinus chinensis, F. retusa and L. quihoui. The insect had one generation a year, generally with the fertilized females overwintering. However, 1-2% of the population overwintered in the egg stage in Liuzhou and 8.6% in Nanning. It is concluded that the climatic conditions in Guangxi are suitable for E. pela. Parasitoids caused heavy losses of the insect.
