Notes: A survey was conducted to determine the most important scale species occurring on leaves of Citrus in 6 localities in the region of Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Oranges, mandarins, Citrus latifolia and C. limonia were surveyed monthly from March 1993 to January 1994. Several species were detected belonging to the genera Aonidiella, Chrysomphalus, Coccus, Lecanium [Coccus], Mytilococcus [Lepidosaphes], Parlatoria, Pinnaspis, Planococcus and Unaspis. Some insect species were common to several Citrus species, while others were more specific.
