Biliotti, E. 1977 Augmentation of natural enemies in western Europe.. Biological Control by Augmentation of Natural Enemies: Insect and Mite Control with Parasites and Predators. Plenum Press New York 480 pp.

Notes: [Proceedings of a symposium held at the Fifteenth International Congress of Entomology, Washington, D.C., August 19-27, 1976, and other selected papers.] Rodolia cardinalis was one of the first introductions for biological control against Icerya purchasi, first in Portugal, then in France. The first establishment of Prospaltella perniciosi against the San Jose scale, Quadraspidiotus perniciosus was obtained from Germany, Switzerland and France after several years of releases from mass breeding on infested melons in specialised insectaries.
