Bichina, T.I., & Vaganova, L.D. 1985 [Ensuring the healthiness of planting material.]. Zashchita rastenii No. 11: 31.
Notes: An account is given of the inspection, fumigation and routine cultural and chemical control measures used in the Moldavian SSR, USSR, in connection with quarantine pests of orchards and vineyards producing planting or grafting material. The chief pests are the fall webworm moth [Hyphantria cunea], oriental peach moth [Cydia molesta], San Jose scale [Quadraspidiotus perniciosus] and Comstock's mealybug [Pseudococcus comstocki]. Particular attention is paid to measures in connection with Q. perniciosus, where use is made of pheromone traps for detecting the pest and also for determining the right times for chemical treatments.
