Bhuiya, B.A., Chowdhury, S.H., Kabir, S.M.H., & Dowton, M. 2000 Natural population of Aenasius advena compere (Chalcidoidea: Encyrtidae) and its host preference in Bangladesh.. Fourth International Hymenoptera Conference (held in Canberra, Australia, in January 1999.) CSIRO Publishing Collingwood, Australia
Notes: Seasonal fluctuations in rates of parasitism by Aenasius advena of Ferrisia virgata and Planococcus pacificus were studied on guavas (Psidium guayava) in Bangladesh during 1983-86. Rates of parasitism by A. advena were consistently higher on F. virgata than on P. pacificus, except during July-August, when F. virgata was absent. P. pacificus acted as an alternate host during this period. Overall rates of parasitism were highest in March and October and were generally correlated with greater abundance of hosts at the same time or slightly earlier.
