Notes: The assertion is made that the presence of red-headed pustules does not correlate with the effect of the fungus on scale insects. Also, the effect of light on fungi that infest scales is discussed. The scale species mentioned are Aspidiotus obscurus (Chrysomphalus obscurus), the long scale, purple scale and obscure scale.
