Beattie, G.A.C., & Rippon, L.E. 1980 Phytotoxicity and scalicide efficacy of citrus spray oils.. Proceedings of the International Society of Citriculture 1978. Griffith, NSW, Australia
Notes: In trials with Valencia orange trees no significant difference in respect of scale (Aonidiella aurantii) mortality was noted between 3 narrow-range emulsive oils with Saybolt viscosities of 60, 70 and 80 SUS applied at 2% and a mayonnaise-type oil in 1976 when all gave about 82% mortality. In 1977, however, the mayonnaise-type oil was the least effective (62% mortality). No appreciable differences were noted between sprayed and control trees as regards leaf drop. The treatments had no adverse effects on fruit quality.
