Beattie, G.A.C. 1993 . Biological Control of Chinese Wax Scale - Phylogeny and Biogeography of the genus Ceroplastes. Final Report. CT032. Horticultural Research & Development Corporation Gordon, NSW, Australia 19 pp.

Notes: Six species of Ceroplastes occur in Australia: Ceroplastes sinensis (Chinese wax scale), C. (=Gascardia) destructor, C. rubens, C. floridensis, C. ceriferus and C. insulanus (Only found on Lord Howe Island). Illustrations and information about chemical control and its cost is given. Cladistic analysis was used to determine the origin of Chinese wax scale and a table is presented listing the results for 91 species of Ceroplastes, Gascardia, Waxiella and several outgroups.
