Bartlett, B.R., & Van den Bosch, R. 1964 Foreign exploration for beneficial organisms.. Biological Control of Insect Pests and Weeds. Chapman & Hall London 844 pp.
Notes: Control experiments with Icerya purchasi, Pseudococcus gahani and Chrysomphalus aonidum refute the theory that natural control can never continuously maintain their hosts at exceedingly low population densities. Aphytis chrysomphali and Habrolepis rouxi, two of the most important parasites of Aonidiella aurantii, thrive on this host when imported, in spite of its nonexistence in its native home.
