Notes: Title in English: [Aulacaspis tubercularis Newstead (Coccoidea : Diaspididae ), a new pest on mango crops (Magnifera L. ) on the island of La Gomera (Canary Islands).] Approximately six years ago, the presence of a scale insect was detected in mango crops in Valle Gran Rey, La Gomera Island . In principle this was not given importance as a pest because the damage went unnoticed . After a while , there was an increase in the population of these individuals , causing important damage. In this first work we have carried out the verification of the pest species, its distribution in the island of La Gomera and the damage caused and possible control of the same.
