Argyriou, L.C., & Paloukis, S.S. 1976 Some data on biology and parasitization of Sphaerolecanium prunastri Fonscolombe (Homoptera Coccidae) in Greece.. Annales de l'Institut Phytopathologique Benaki (N.S.) 11: 230-240.

Notes: Sphaerolecanium prunastri does considerable damage to rosaceous fruit trees in Greece, particularly to almonds, peaches and cherries. The scale has one generation a year, in North and South but there is a difference of about a month between the times of hatching in southern and northern Greece. The insect spends most of its life in the second nymphal stage. One parasite Coccophagus lycimnia (Walker), one hyperparasite Pachyneuron concolor (Foerster) and the predators Exochomus quadripustulatus L., Chilocorus bipustulatus and Chrysopa sp. were reared from S. prunastri.
