Notes: Abstract: Diaspidids are very destructive pests of olive; 60 species recorded, with Parlatoria oleae and Aspidiotus nerii the most widespread; all plant parts attacked; control of scales must be coordinated with control of Dacus oleae (olive fruit fly) and Prays oleae (olive kernel borer); chemicals are commonly used and have sometimes resulted in outbreaks of scale pests.
