Annecke, D.P., & Prinsloo, G.L. 1976 On the species of Euxanthellus Silvestri in South Africa (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae).. Journal of the Entomological Society of Southern Africa 39(1): 1-7.

Notes: The three known species of Euxanthellus in South Africa, which are here distinguished with the aid of descriptions and a key, are E. philippiae Silv., E. subochraceus (How.) and E. adustus sp. n., which is described from adults of both sexes reared from Gascardia destructor (Newst.) and Coccus ehretiae (Brain) on Maytenus senegalensis in South Africa in 1966. All three species have been reared from a number of coccoid hosts, some of them of economic importance. The hosts of E. adustus include Gascardia brevicauda (Hall) (Ceroplastes brevicauda) and Coccus hesperidum L. on Citrus in South Africa.
