Notes: This is the first reference to predatory activity of Coccidophilus citricola on Aulacaspis rosae Aspidiotus nerii, Hemiberlesia lataniae, H. palmae, Aonidiella citrina and Hemichionaspis minor, in Chile and the Neotropical Region. Paralleling the introduction of C. citricola to the Azapa valley, laboratory research was undertaken to evaluate its daily predatory capacity upon A. nerii, H. lataniae and A. citrina. Promising results suggest that it might be used for biological or integrated control on olive tree and citrus yellow scale, in northern Chile.
