- Systematics: Danzig (1980a) first named this species, while clearly connecting it with the description and illustration of a female third-instar nymph, under the name Xylococcus napiformis Kuwana, 1914, The description and illustration of a female third-instar nymph, under the name Xylococcus napiformis Kuwana, 1914, by Danzig (1972a: 268, Fig. 4) and by Danzig (1980b: 93, Fig. 31), were misidentifications of Xylococcus quercicola Danzig, 1980a.. Beesonia napiformis was correctly included by Kozár & Drozdják (1998b) in the Beesoniidae, while Foldi (1998 and 2001a) erroneously listed it in the Margarodidae.
