• Systematics: Subfamily DIASPIDINAE Tribe LEPIDOSAPHIDINI (Normark, et al., 2019) Rugaspidiotinus is distinguished by the presence of two types of glands on the pygidium, one type of normal diameter and others which are very narrow (Balachowsky, 1953g).
