Type data: INDIA: Tamil Nadu, Coimbatore Agricultural College, on Amaranthus, 1934, by TV Ramakrishna Ayyar. , , accepted valid name Notes: Both Ayyar (1936) and Venkatraman (1941) recognized this insect as a new taxon, but refrained to name it. Venkatraman (1941) illustrated it in 11 figs. and also described in detail with clearly distinguishing it from Taiwanese durantae. It was named in Varshney (1992) who provided a bibliographic reference to the publication by Venkatraman. He placed in Chloropulvinaria on account of its closeness to C. psidii in "externatal appearance, production of ovisac and apical furcation of marginal hairs." Illustr.
