Poliaspis brunyensis is most similar to Poliaspis chamelaucium, but differs in the following characters: well-developed gland spine present on each abdominal segment (gland spines absent or poorly developed in P. chamelaucium); dorsal submedial macroducts on abdominal segment VI forming a dense cluster of 10–13 ducts (forming a loose cluster of 3–7 ducts in P. chamelaucium); L1 joined by a sclerotized yoke, without acute projections between L1 (space between L1 without a yoke but with acute sclerotized projections in P. chamelaucium). - Structure: Adult female not pupillarial. Appearance in life not recorded. Slide-mounted adult female (n = 2) 1300–1370 μm long (holotype 1300 μm), 640–720 μm wide (holotype 640 μm). Body outline fusiform or elongate, derm membranous except for sclerotized areas of pygidium (Wei, Normark & Normark, 2026)
