Remarks
- Systematics: Before this species had been described it was frequently confused with Crisicoccus azaleae (Tinsley).
- Structure: Adult females were dark pink with copious amounts of waxy fluff surrounding the more mature specimens. (Claghorn, 2003)
- Economic Importance: This mealybug caused heavy infestation on Rhododendron at the National Arboretum, Washington D.C. in 1978 (Cox, 1989).
