Remarks
- Systematics: Williams & Watson (1988) stated that P. browni and P. guamensis are probably closely related, if not identical, possibly representing opposite environmentally induced extremes of the same species. The high intraspecific morphological variability observed in the present study for most characters previously suggested as diagnostic for them makes assignment of some specimens to a particular species difficult. However, von Ellenrieder, et al. stated that the total number of large-type dorsal oral collar tubular ducts allows allocation of their specimens to either one of them, although the difference is slight, and it might not hold true upon future examination of more extensive series of specimens.
- Biology: Usually attended by ants Anoplolepis longipes and Pheidole megacephala.
- General Remarks: Good description and illustration of the adult female given by Williams & Watson (1988a). Good description of the adult female given by Tang (1992).
