- Systematics: Subfamily DIASPIDINAE Tribe DIASPIDINI Subtribe FIORINIINA (Normark, et al., 2019)
Moraspis falls within the complex of genera of the Chionaspis type, which is so strongly developed in the Ethiopian region. It is characterized by the quite abnormal development of marginal pores, the lack of gland tubercles on the abdominal thoracic segments and the extremely dense sclerotization of the anterior two-thirds of the body (Hall, 1946a).
