Remarks
- Systematics: The adult females of species in this genus are distinguished in presence of pores in atrium of the thoracic and abdominal spiracles (Bhatti & Gullan, 1990).
Gavrilov-Zimin, 2018, resurrected the tribe Momophlebulini within the family Margarodidae to place the genus Modicicoccus in relation to other genera that he felt belonged in a subfamily of Monophlebinae (Gullania, Insulococcus, Melaleucococcus, Modicicoccus, Monophlebidus, Nodulicoccus, Peengea, Perissopneumon and Tessarobelus)
