Remarks
- Systematics: Subfamily: Phenacoccinae (Choi & Lee) The genus Longicoccus Danzig, 1975 was distinguished based on the presence of well-developed anal lobes and on the absence of quinquelocular and dorsal multilocular pores. The long-term studies of the variability of the essential morphological characters in various mealybug genera with reduced cerarii (Gavrilov, 2006, 2007; Gavrilov-Zimin, 2011; Danzig and Gavrilov-Zimin, 2013) prompted Danzig & Gavrilov-Zimin (2014a) to reconsider the taxonomical significance of some of these characters and to consider it a synonym of Mirococcus. Polystomophora was originally described by Borchsenius (1948) as a monotypic genus most closely related to Mirococcusbut differing in the presence of quinquelocular pores. However, even in the type species of the genus Mirococcus Danzig & Gavrilov-Zimin (2014a) found that these pores were present in a greater or a lesser number in individuals of different populations. They found no other characters to consider Polystomophora a distinct genus. Therefore, they also made it a junior synonym of Mirococcus. .
