Remarks
- Systematics: This species is close to Lepidosaphes mori, but can be told by its head being strewn with granulations or small conical processes, whereas in L. mori it is not. In L. mori the prothorax is strewn with ventral microducts within the lateral margin, although these ducts are variable in number and may at times be obsolete, whereas in L. viticis the prothorax is always devoid of microducts (Takagi, 1970).
