Remarks
- Systematics: Normark, et al. (2019) reexamined specimens of "Carulaspis giffardi" after their phylogenetic analysis placed the species within the genus Lepido. saphes. They determined that the characters of this species fit the characters of the genus Lepidosaphes in all respects except for their turbinate body shape. It is also clear from the phylogeny that this species is only remotely related to the 2 genera in which it has heretofore been placed. They therefore regard it as Lepidosaphes giffardi.
- Structure: Female scale elongate-oval, thin, yellow brown with exuviae located at the anterior end. Female is turbinate (Adachi & Fullaway, 1953).
- General Remarks: Detailed description and illustration by Adachi & Fullaway (1953).
