[Species of Icerya]
Remarks
- Systematics: This species has peculiar multilocular posed with a staked profile. Three other species of Icerya have this kind of pores: I. zimmermanni which has these pores on the dorsum only in contrast to I. siamensis which has these pores in the ovisac band also; I. gaponiana which differs from I. siamensis in having crown-shaped multilocular pores forming a wide marginal band along the entire ventral surface of the body and having no asteroid multilocular pores; and I. oculicicatricata which differs in the presence of minute cicatricies near the eyes. (Gavrilov-Zimin, 2018)
- Structure: Living female orange, covered by plates of dense wax; ventral surface of abdomen concave, forming a cavity for deposition of wholly develooped first-instar nymphs; cavity closed by wax cap. (Gavrilov-Zimin, 2018)
- Biology: Female complete ovoviviparous, with fully developed nymphs inside of the maternal body. (Gavrilov-Zimin, 2018)
