Remarks
- Structure: Unmounted material of D. tanganyicus clearly shows distinct intersegmental indentations between each abdominal and thoracic segment, so that the thorax clearly consists of three segments. On mounted D. tanganyicus, all abdominal sternites have many spines and multilocular disc-pores but both of these are more or less absent ventrally on all 3 thoracic sternites (a few discpores are present medially on the mesothorax only). These spines and disc-pores are, however, common on the small sternite just behind the metathorax, strongly suggesting that this sternite is also abdominal and therefore the 1st-abdominal sternite. (Vahedi & Hodgson, 2007)
- General Remarks: Description of adult female and nymphs given by Jakubski (1965). Description and illustration of adult male by Hodgson & Foldi (2006).
