Remarks
- Systematics: Contigaspis davatchii resembles C. cyanogena, but differs by median lobes of pygidium (L1) serratulate and more raised out from the margin. It differs from C. monticola(=C. zillae) by the non-truncate apex of L1 (Kaussari, 1959).
- Structure: Scale of female large, pyriform or oval, white, fairly convex. Male scale white (Kaussari, 1959). Slide-mounted adult female pyriform, membranous; maximum width at abdominal represented by a single median lobe (L1 completely fused) with outer margins serrated. Second and third lobes (L2 and L3) absent. Gland spines short, spiniform, present on abdominal segments VI and VII. Dorsal marginal macroducts slightly larger than submarginal and submedian macroducts; submarginal ducts numerous, irregularly distributed on thorax and segments I–VI; submedian ducts present on segments II–VI; submarginal and submedian duct zones separate except on segment VI. Ventral surface with perivulvar pores in 5 groups. Ventral ducts same as small dorsal ducts, present on mesothorax, metathorax, and abdominal segments. Duct tubercles spiniform, present submarginally on prothorax, metathorax, and abdominal segments I–VI. (Moghaddam & Watson, 2021)
- Biology: Contigaspis davatchii was collected at altitudes of 1700-2000 meters (Kaussari, 1959).
- General Remarks: Best description and illustration by Kaussari (1959).
