Structure: Scale of female semi-transparent, white, flat, elongate-oval, closely felted in texture, occurring singly or aggregated into small elongated masses in which the scales overlap one another; sometimes depressed along the veins of the leaves of the host with the result that the side adjoining the leaf veins becomes straight. Length, about 5.5 mm (Mamet, 1954b).
