Remarks
- Systematics: Danzig & Gavrilov-Zimin (2015) considered only several American species with a claw denticle to be Chorizococcus and transferred all other species to the genus Atrococcus. Examination of phylogenies using molecular and morphological characters (Hardy et al. 2008 & Kaydan et al. 2015) or molecular characters alone (Downie & Gullan 2004) do not agree with the above hypotheses.
- General Remarks: Good description and illustration of the adult female given by Bodenheimer (1943). Good description of the adult female given by Ben-Dov (1991).
