Remarks
- Systematics: The most distinctive features of this species are the reduced number of dorsal ducts and the narrow dorsal, median, sclerotized area of the pygidium (Ferris, 1953). This species is peculiar, in having no lateral macroducts and no lateral gland spines on all the prepygidial segments. Takagi (2012a) stated that it represents a simplified dwarf form apparently adapted to cryptic living under the leaf tomentum. Although he left the species in Aulacaspis, he stated that "it is also possible that this species belongs to Chionaspis.
- Structure: Aulacaspis pudica is very small with adult females about .6mm in length. Body elongate oval. Pygidium with narrow median, sclerotized area (Ferris, 1953).
- General Remarks: Detailed description and illustration by Ferris (1953).
