Remarks
- Systematics: Aulacaspis discorum is close to A. rosae from which it differs in the median lobes being in apposition at their bases, in having pairs of gland spines in the 1st and 2nd interlobular spaces, the outer spine of the pair being much longer than the inner, and in the well marked submarginal bosses on segments 1, 4, 5, 6 (Hall & Williams, 1962).
- Structure: Scale of adult female dull white, subcircular or broadly pyriform, convex; exuviae brown, coated with a film of secretionary matter; situated marginally (Hall & Williams, 1962). Adult female at full growth (Fig. 15). Body robust; prosoma much wider than long, broadly rounded along free margin metathorax and abdominal segment I gradually narrower, abdominal segment II tending to be strongly lobed laterally. Anterior spiracles each with a crescent-shaped compact cluster of many disc pores; posterior spiracles each with a smaller cluster. Perivulvar disc pores numerous especially in antero- and posterolateral groups. (Takagi, 2015)
- General Remarks: Detailed description and illustration by Hall & Williams (1962). Detailed redescription and illustration in Takagi, 2015.
