Remarks
- Systematics: This species is quite different from all other Cerococcus species because it has 2 quinquelocular (sometimes 7-locular) pores associated with each anterior spiracle and only 1 associated with each posterior spiracle. The other species with 2 quinquelocular pores associated with each anterior spiracle always have 3 associated with each posterior spiracle (Hamon & Kosztarab, 1979).
- Structure: Adult female has a pear-shaped, smooth, waxy test which is prolonged at the abdominal extremity in a short tube. It is brownish yellow in color. Adult female is brown and legs are absent (Maskell, 1890). Second stage female is covered with a brownish yellow loose test which is convex, elliptical and has six or seven off white colored cottony processes. Adult female is red and elliptical. Male pupa is enclosed in a cylindrical yellow felted and somewhat flattened sac. Adult male is reddish brown (Maskell, 1891). The adult female of A. corokiae is characterized by the following combination of character-states: (i) dorsum with two sizes of 8-shaped pores; (ii) large 8-shaped pores sparse medially on cephalothorax, around margins and on either side of stigmatic pore bands; (iii) presence of 8-shaped pores within apices of stigmatic pore bands unknown; (iv) large 8-shaped pores present in a band along margins of posterior abdominal segments; (v) cribriform plates present in submedial groups of 4–7 plates, some occasionally fused, on each side of segment IV; (vi) leg stubs absent; (vii) posterior stigmatic bands bifurcated; (viii) multilocular disc-pores in sparse bands across all abdominal segments and submarginally on metathorax, and (ix) small pores, presumably quinquelocular disc-pores, present in a submarginal band between each antenna and posterior spiracles. (Hodgson & Williams, 2016)
- General Remarks: Detailed redescription and illustration by Lambdin & Kosztarab (1977a). Hamon & Kosztarab (1979) provide a description and illustration of the first instar.
