Albastaspis neocasuarinae can be distinguished from most other species of Albastaspis by the presence of pores by the posterior spiracles (pores absent in most species). Compared to the few other species that share this character state, it is most similar to A. brimblecombei in having broad, robust L1 about even with L2 (L1 exceeded by L2 in A. pallens and A. gloria; small L1 separated by spined yoke in A. xanthorhoeae). A. neocasuarinae differs from A. brimblecombei in having thorn-like sclerotized projections of the ventral derm in submedial areas of the thorax (derm membranous in A. brimblecombei), body broad, less than twice as long as wide (body elongate, more than twice as long as wide, in A. brimblecombei), and L1 coarsely crenate (finely serrulate in A. brimblecombei). (Wei, Normark & Normark, 2026)
- Structure: Adult female not pupillarial. Scale cover white, with orange terminal exuviae. Slide-mounted adult female (n = 4) 750–1500 μm long (holotype 800 μm), 430–620 μm wide (holotype 450 μm), broadest at metathorax and abdominal segment I. Body outline near fusiform, derm membranous except for pygidium. (Wei, Normark & Normark, 2026)
