Remarks
- Systematics: The adult males of Akermes scrobiculatus and A. pingue are very similar, only differing in a few small particulars, the significance of which is uncertain due to the few specimens studied. However, the study of the adult females shows that these two species are distinct. Neither A. scrobiculatus nor A. pinguis are congeneric with Akermes bruneri Cockerell but are considered to belong to the subfamily Myzolecaniinae as understood in 2020.. (Hodgson, 2020)
