- Systematics: Subfamily DIASPIDINAE Tribe LEPIDOSAPHIDINI (Normark, et al., 2019)
Borchsenius (1947a) associated this genus with Lepidosaphes Shimer. The genus Torosaspis Ülgentürk was separated from Acanthomytilus by Ülgentürk & Kozár (2011). The second and third marginal macroducts on pygidial segment VI are paired in Acanthomytilus,
but are in single in Torosaspis.
