Remarks
- Systematics: Subfamily: Pseudococcinae (Choi & Lee) Cox & Ben-Dov characterized the genus as having an anal bar, modified (oral-rim) tubular ducts on dorsum, multilocular disc pores in midregion of venter only, translucent pores on tibia only, anal-lobe cerarii with two conical setae, no circulus, and 9-18 pairs of cerarii. Unfortunately, none of these characters is consistently present in all specimens of each species. (Miller & Giliomee, 2011)
- Biology: Although there is no consistent definition of the genus, it does appear to form a group of species that have similar biological characteristics, such as the production of an unusually large ovisac, and are restricted to the southern areas of the Afrotropical
region. (Miller & Giliomee, 2011)
- General Remarks: Good definition and characters given by Williams & Matile-Ferrero (1994).
